Just checking out this restrauant

Just went there yesterday and I got some comps. Pina coladas and margaritas were awesome, specially because "THEY WERE FREE". The owner Fabian was very kind at all times and because it was my birthday I got some great freebie desserts too. Thanks Fabian and the staff for this wonderful experience, I will let all my buddies know where to go from now on.

When we first moved to Troutdale about 10 years ago this was our favorite Mexican Resturant, Fabian, his wife and the rest of the crew were great. The food was fantistic and the prices were right. How things have changed! The first thing you notice is the extra charge for a second bowl of chips and salsa. If I go in there myself I get one bowl, if I go in with my wife, we get one bowl. What happens if we go in with another couple, still on bowl? We could all go in seperately and set at different tables and we'd each get one bowl, then we could move together. Other Mexican resturants in the area (i.e. La Costita on Stark and La Carreta on Burnside) do not limit your chips and salsa. In fact at La Carreta they have someone that goes around with a pitcher of salsa and refills your bowl before you even have to ask.

If you order a Burrito they'll ask you if you want bean and rice with that. Most people expect beans and rice with their meal. If you say yes stand by for an extra charge. If it comes with sour cream and guacamole and you don't like guacamole and ask that they hold the guacamole and subitute extra sour cream, stand by for an extra charge although they won't tell you that up front.

My wife and I and another couple went to their Sunday buffet. It was top dollar and the food was uneatable.

The resturant is very clean. Fabian and his wife are very nice but don't go on a Sunday night because neither of them are there and the help are making out in the aisles while you're trying to get their attention for some service.

Overall, on a scale from one to ten (ten being the highest) they are now a NINE.

The fajitas are amazing! Like nothing I've ever experienced. And I've never had something here that wasn't delicious at the least. Also, the ambiance is festive, with a beautiful mural on all four walls of the dining room and Mexican décor all around.

Awesome place. Food is excellent and service is the best. When you order a drink it is not watered down like some places we have been. I cannot say enough about the food, service and owner.

Food is great, but watch out for hidden charges, such as only one basket of chips, whether it's a party of one or ten. Each additional basket is $1.00 each. If something comes with sour cream and guacamole and you say no guacamole but extra sour cream, they charge you for the extra sour cream. Two people order fajitas at the same table, same amount of tortillas as for one, when you run out you obviously ask for more, then you get the check and you see you were charged extra for that also.

Excellent atmosphere with excellent dishes! The chips and salsa are exceptional! I can't get enough of this restaurant. It's hard to find, if you're not familiar with the area, but well worth the visit in my opinion. The service was outstanding and the staff was very personable.

I will return for more of what Tapatio provides it's customers.

Sundays, Sundays, Sundays!!! I'm more of a buffet type person so really enjoy going at least once a month to their brunch buffet (chicken fajitas) . It's worth every penny and a lot more. Thanks for the great food and prices!

I went to Tapatio Mexican Restaurant in Aloha because a friend told me about their great carne asada. I ordered a few drinks and some appetizers to start off and wow! I was impressed from the beginning, their Super Nachos are were unbelievable! Once I got my carne asada I couldn't expect less from them. Overall my experience was fantastic, the customer service was excelent and I would definetly recommend it to anyone who has a crave for real mexican food.
